Algiers, December 6, 2025 – Algeria is hosting the fourth edition of the African Startup Conference, commencing today in Algiers. The event gathers prominent figures from Africa’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Under the theme “Supporting the Rise of African Champions,” the conference anticipates broad participation from government officials and startup representatives from approximately 35 African nations. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Algeria has hosted this significant economic gathering, which has become a tradition. The three-day event is held under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, underscoring its importance as a leading continental platform for startups and entrepreneurs, recognized for their increasing role in Africa’s economic development.
The conference is organized by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, and the public accelerator “Algeria Venture,” at the Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Center. Organizers expect over 25,000 attendees, more than 35 ministerial delegations, over 200 exhibitors from within and outside Africa, and upwards of 300 international experts. Rwanda is participating as the guest of honor.
The event will also welcome over 150 investors, a substantial number of project owners, incubators, and entrepreneurs from the African diaspora, as well as representatives from international organizations and global innovation leaders.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune recently emphasized the importance of the event, describing it as a “vital artery connecting African countries with the world.” He highlighted that “the move towards a startup economy based on an African-African partnership is the most successful model for building a strong, diversified economy, founded on science and nurtured by Algeria.”
Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouahdi, stated that this international gathering constitutes a “fundamental element of the vision for Algerian and African innovation.” He added that participating African ministers are “aware that Algeria will host a major event in December in the field of support and joint African action for the benefit of startups and innovation.”
