Rooney Leads Unprecedented Attack on Salah at Liverpool

Liverpool, UK – Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian star, is facing an unprecedented wave of criticism since joining Liverpool in 2017. Leading the charge is none other than English football legend Wayne Rooney, who has accused Salah of tarnishing his Anfield legacy and behaving with arrogance.

Rooney, a Manchester United icon, launched a scathing attack on Salah during his radio program, following comments made by the Egyptian international after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Leeds United. Rooney urged Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, to take decisive action.

“Arne Slot needs to assert his authority, summon him, and tell him: ‘You’re not traveling with the team. What you said is unacceptable. Go to the Africa Cup of Nations and let things cool down. If I were him, there would be no way back into the team,'” Rooney stated firmly.

Rooney didn’t stop there, accusing Salah of destroying everything he has built at Liverpool. “He is completely ruining his legacy at Liverpool. It would be sad to throw everything away. He has handled this situation completely wrong.”

The crisis erupted after Salah’s surprising press statements following the Leeds match, where he was benched for the third consecutive game. He hinted that the club had “thrown him under the bus” and that he had no relationship with manager Arne Slot. Salah, who signed a new contract worth £400,000 a week earlier this year, warned that the upcoming Brighton game might be his farewell to the fans before heading to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Rooney strongly criticized what he perceived as arrogance in Salah’s statements, especially when the Egyptian player said he didn’t need to prove himself again because he already had. “Time catches up with us all, and this season he hasn’t been at his best, he hasn’t been good. You need to be at your best every week to try and stay in the team,” Rooney concluded. DZWatch will continue to follow this developing story.
