Israeli Airstrikes Target Southern Lebanon

Southern Lebanon – Israeli warplanes conducted a series of airstrikes on locations in southern Lebanon earlier this week. The strikes focused on the areas of Wadi Roumine and Jabal Safi in the Apple region, as well as the vicinity of the Zafta River in the Nabatieh district.

The Israeli military stated that the strikes targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in several areas of southern Lebanon. According to a military statement, targets included what they described as a training complex used by Hezbollah’s Radwan force. Military installations and a Hezbollah launch site were also reportedly struck.

These Israeli actions follow less than a week after both Israel and Lebanon sent civilian envoys to a military committee monitoring the ceasefire between the two countries. This move was seen as a step toward meeting a long-standing demand to broaden talks in line with a regional peace agenda.

Israel and Lebanon agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire last year, ending over a year of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israel has conducted repeated raids on locations in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese officials and international bodies have documented numerous Israeli violations, including airstrikes, shootings, ground incursions, and the demolition of buildings. DZWatch continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available.
