Algiers – Algeria is preparing for a significant weather shift, with several western provinces expected to experience rainfall, and higher altitudes anticipating snowfall, particularly overnight on Saturday. DZWatch has learned that the national meteorological services have issued a weather advisory for the coming weekend.
The forecast indicates that while central and eastern regions will enjoy largely sunny and stable conditions, the western provinces will be subject to localized rainfall and potential snowfall on elevated areas, most notably the peaks of Mount Anter during the night.
The provinces likely to be affected by rainfall include Tissemsilt, Relizane, Mascara, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, Tiaret, and Saida.
Coastal temperatures are expected to range between 17 and 18 degrees Celsius. Inland regions will experience cooler temperatures, fluctuating between 8 and 16 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds could reach up to 30 kilometers per hour in some areas.
Southern regions, in contrast, are predicted to have partly cloudy conditions with temperatures ranging from 12 to 31 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds in the south may reach up to 40 kilometers per hour.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the latest weather updates. DZWatch will continue to monitor the situation and provide timely information as it becomes available.
