Tamanrasset to Become Key Industrial Hub for African Exports

Tamanrasset is poised to become a major industrial hub and a strategic gateway for exporting Algerian goods to Africa, according to Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig.

Speaking at the opening of the first National Exhibition of Export-Oriented Products in Tamanrasset, Minister Rezig emphasized the region’s dual role. He highlighted that Tamanrasset is not only a crucial point for launching products into the African market, but also holds significant potential as a thriving industrial center in the near future.

The exhibition, held under the theme “Tamanrasset: Gateway to Export to Central African Countries,” underscores the region’s importance as Algeria’s southern gateway and a pivotal point for exporting and processing goods destined for the densely populated Central African nations.

Minister Rezig urged economic operators to participate and invest in the region, emphasizing the importance of such events in showcasing the diversity and quality of Algerian products. He noted that over 100 exhibitors are participating in the salon.

He further added that Algerian products have reached a high standard of quality, enabling them to access global markets and contribute to increasing the value of national exports outside the hydrocarbon sector. The focus on Tamanrasset signals a strategic shift towards diversifying Algeria’s export economy and strengthening its trade ties with the African continent.
