Algiers, December 30, 2025 – Senate President, Azzouz Nasseri, received a delegation of Algerian nationals residing abroad, the Senate announced in a statement on Tuesday. The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight Algeria’s progress and achievements under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The meeting, held on Monday, was part of the “Winter University activities organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the benefit of the national community residing abroad.” The session allowed for a presentation of Algeria’s developmental strides under President Tebboune. Furthermore, the delegation members, many of whom were visiting their homeland for the first time, shared their opinions and impressions.
President Nasseri reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with the Algerian diaspora and ensuring they enjoy the same rights as citizens residing within the country. He urged them to prioritize the nation’s honor and prosperity in their endeavors.
The Senate President also reminded the visiting delegation of their ancestors’ rich history, which should serve as a source of pride and inspiration.
Members of the diaspora expressed their pride in their Algerian heritage, pledging their unwavering loyalty to the nation. They affirmed their readiness to serve Algeria from their respective locations, emphasizing that distance from the homeland only strengthens their connection.
The delegation conveyed their deep gratitude to President Tebboune for his special attention to the Algerian community abroad and for the measures taken to strengthen their ties with their homeland.
During their visit, the delegation toured various facilities within the Senate, including the library, the audio-visual technical department, and the plenary hall. They received a presentation about the Senate as a legislative institution and an artistic landmark.
