Algiers, December 30, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune addressed the nation today, warning of ongoing attempts to sow discord and division between Algeria and Tunisia. Speaking before a joint session of Parliament at the Palais des Nations in Club des Pins, the President emphasized the deep and unbreakable bonds that unite the two nations.
President Tebboune stated unequivocally that Algeria views Tunisia’s security as inextricably linked to its own, and vice versa. “The security of Algeria is an extension of the security of Tunisia, and the security of Tunisia is an extension of the security of Algeria,” he declared, underscoring the shared destiny and mutual dependence of the two countries.
The President firmly asserted Algeria’s unwavering commitment to respecting Tunisia’s sovereignty and non-interference in its internal affairs. “Algeria has never interfered in the internal affairs of Tunisia and will never interfere,” President Tebboune affirmed. He emphasized that Algeria scrupulously avoids any intervention, even of the slightest degree, in Tunisia’s domestic matters.
These remarks come at a time of heightened regional tensions and underscore the importance Algeria places on maintaining strong and stable relations with its neighbor. President Tebboune’s address serves as a clear message of solidarity and a rejection of any efforts to undermine the close ties between Algeria and Tunisia.
The President’s strong stance reflects Algeria’s long-standing policy of promoting regional stability and cooperation, particularly with its immediate neighbors. His words are likely to resonate deeply with Algerians and Tunisians alike, who share a common history, culture, and future.
