Algiers – The National Waqf and Zakat Authority (NWZA) and the General Directorate of National Domains (GDND) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing the utilization of Waqf properties across the country. The agreement was formalized on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
According to a statement released by the NWZA, this partnership seeks to optimize the management and investment of Waqf assets. The collaboration will focus on identifying and developing strategies to unlock the economic potential of these properties, ensuring they contribute effectively to social and economic development.
The agreement outlines several key areas of cooperation, including the exchange of expertise and information, joint training programs for personnel, and the implementation of modern management techniques. Both the NWZA and GDND will work together to streamline procedures related to the registration, valuation, and utilization of Waqf lands and buildings.
