Algiers, Algeria – The Ministry of Health has announced the successful vaccination of 3,838,881 children across Algeria during the second phase of the national polio vaccination campaign. The campaign took place between December 21st and 30th, 2025.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the vaccinated children were between the ages of two months and five years. The vaccination drive achieved a coverage rate of 96%, a testament to the effectiveness of the national health prevention strategy and its alignment with World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations.
The Ministry of Health expressed its sincere gratitude to all healthcare professionals, relevant ministerial sectors, partners, the media, civil society organizations, and parents for their active contribution and continuous mobilization in ensuring the success of this phase of the campaign.
The Ministry also urged parents to ensure their children are vaccinated during the third phase of the campaign, scheduled from January 25th to 31st, 2026. This is crucial to guarantee the health and well-being of all Algerian children.
