Former U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro will face American justice, asserting that the United States will oversee Venezuela until a secure and fair transition is achieved. This announcement follows a purported U.S. military operation resulting in Maduro’s apprehension and removal from the country.
In an official address, Trump stated that the U.S. armed forces, under his direct instruction, executed an “extraordinary” military operation in Caracas, Venezuela’s capital. The operation allegedly involved air and naval power in what he described as a stunning and unprecedented offensive since World War II.
Trump claimed the operation’s objective was to bring Maduro to justice, highlighting it as a demonstration of American military strength and efficiency. He indicated the operation was carried out with precision, akin to previous U.S. operations targeting high-value individuals and locations. According to Trump, Venezuelan military capabilities were unable to counter the operation, and Maduro’s arrest occurred “under the cover of night” without any U.S. troop casualties.
Trump further stated that Maduro was apprehended along with his wife, Cilia Flores, and both will face charges in a Southern New York court related to what he termed “narco-terrorism” against the United States and its citizens. He added that the accused have been transported aboard a vessel en route to U.S. territory to complete legal proceedings.
The former President praised the performance of the U.S. armed forces and law enforcement agencies, emphasizing the operation’s speed, lethality, and precision, with no reported American casualties or equipment losses. He mentioned the involvement of numerous helicopters, fighter jets, and soldiers, reaffirming the U.S. military’s status as the “strongest in the world” in terms of capabilities, skills, and equipment.
Trump linked the operation to U.S. efforts to combat drug trafficking, stating that a significant portion of drugs entering the United States by sea originated from Venezuela. This claim remains unverified. The situation in Venezuela is developing, and DZWatch will continue to provide updates as they become available.
