Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued for Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, January 4, 2026 – The National Meteorological Office has issued a severe weather warning for several provinces across Algeria, forecasting significant rainfall starting tomorrow, Monday.

According to a statement released today, the affected provinces can expect rainfall amounts ranging from 40 to 50 millimeters, with localized areas potentially exceeding 70 millimeters. The provinces under the weather alert include Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Mascara, Ain Defla, Blida, Medea, and Bouira.

The heavy rainfall is expected to commence tomorrow, Monday, at 15:00 hours and persist until Wednesday at 06:00 hours. Authorities are urging residents in these areas to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the evolving weather situation.
