National Campaign Launched for Wage & Employee Declarations

Algiers, January 5, 2026 – The National Social Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers (CNAS) has launched its annual national campaign for the declaration of wages and employees. The campaign, which began on January 1st, will continue until January 31st.

Speaking at a press conference held on Monday, the Director of the CNAS Algiers Agency, Safia Bousiala, emphasized that this campaign represents a legal obligation stipulated in Law 83-14 concerning employers’ responsibilities in the area of social security. She stated, “This is a legal commitment outlined in Law 83-14 regarding the obligations of employers in the realm of social security.”

Bousiala further explained that the primary objective of the campaign is to “protect the rights of citizens regarding social coverage, retirement, and access to all benefits provided by social security.”

Highlighting the modernization of management practices, Bousiala drew attention to the digital services available through the Fund’s online portal. “These services include online wage and employee declarations, as well as the automated deduction of social security contributions. This allows employers, in both the private and public sectors, to settle their contributions regularly through automated bank deductions, saving them the hassle of visiting Fund offices.”

The Director also confirmed that both the annual wage and employee declarations and the automated deduction of contributions can be completed remotely via the online portal.

Addressing concerns about potential technical issues with the online platform, Bousiala reassured users, stating: “The online declaration portal is not new. While there were initial challenges, as with any new application, we are confident that in 2026, we have resolved any problems concerning declarations or the use of digital services available to employers and all Fund users.”
