Algeria and Kazakhstan Strengthen Media Cooperation

Algiers – Algeria and Kazakhstan are set to enhance cooperation in the fields of media and communication, following a meeting held earlier today between the Algerian Minister of Communication and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Algeria.

Minister of Communication, Zouhir Bouamama, received Anvarbek Akhmetov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the ministry headquarters. This marked the Ambassador’s first official visit since his appointment.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the current state of bilateral relations between Algeria and Kazakhstan and explore avenues for their development in the media and communication sectors. Discussions focused on establishing effective and sustainable cooperation between the Algerian Ministry of Communication and the Kazakh Ministry of Information and Culture. Furthermore, emphasis was placed on strengthening partnerships between media institutions in both countries.

Both parties affirmed their shared commitment to consolidating media convergence and intensifying coordination, aligning with the positive momentum in Algerian-Kazakh relations recently. This collaboration aims to serve the mutual interests of both nations.

In this context, an agreement was reached to initiate the preparation of a draft agreement for bilateral cooperation in the field of communication. Efforts will also be accelerated to finalize a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Algeria Press Agency and its Kazakh counterpart, with the goal of signing it as soon as possible.
