Higher Education Ministry Prepares for Unified Portal Launch

Algiers, January 6, 2026 – The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is actively preparing for the official launch of a unified portal designed to streamline services for students and researchers.

Minister Kamal Baddari convened a coordination meeting with the heads of the regional university conferences (Central, West, and East) to discuss pedagogical and research aspects related to the portal’s implementation. The meeting, held earlier today, signals a significant step towards modernizing Algeria’s higher education system.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the discussions focused on ensuring a smooth transition and maximizing the benefits of the unified portal for all stakeholders. The portal is expected to simplify administrative procedures, improve access to information, and enhance the overall efficiency of the higher education sector.

The meeting was attended by key figures, including the Director of the National Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urban Planning, the Director of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies, and the Director of the National Agency for the Valorization of Research Results and Technological Development.

Furthermore, directors of several prominent universities, including the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB), Constantine 3 University, and Abou Bekr Belkaid University of Tlemcen, participated in the meeting via video conference.

The unified portal is a key initiative aimed at improving the quality of higher education and research in Algeria. The ministry anticipates that it will foster greater collaboration between universities and research institutions, and ultimately contribute to the country’s economic and social development.
