Algeria Seeks Top Talent for African Union Leadership Role

Algiers – Algeria is seeking qualified nationals to fill a key leadership position within the African Union Commission. The Ministry of Youth has announced a call for applications for a Director of Social Development, Culture, and Sport role, classified as D1, at the AU Commission.

This initiative aims to strengthen Algerian representation in continental bodies and enable Algerian experts to contribute to shaping African policies in crucial sectors. The selected candidate will play a strategic role in leading, planning, and overseeing the development and implementation of policies related to the Directorate. Responsibilities include enhancing coordination and integration across various directorates and departments within the AU Commission.

The role demands contributions to African programs focused on social, cultural, and sports development, aligning with the African Union’s goals of social inclusion, youth empowerment, and the promotion of culture and sports as drivers of sustainable development across the continent.

Applicants must be proficient in at least one of the AU’s working languages: Arabic, English, French, Swahili, Portuguese, or Spanish. Proficiency in a second language is considered a significant advantage.

The ministry emphasized the mandatory use of the African Union’s official CV template. Candidates must download, accurately complete, and upload the form via the African Union Commission’s online platform, following established procedures.

The deadline for submitting applications is January 8, 2026. Interested candidates are urged to complete their applications promptly, respecting the specified timeframe.
