Interior Ministry Launches Phase Three of Vehicle Registration System

The Ministry of Interior has announced the upcoming launch of the third phase of its national vehicle registration system. This initiative, mandated by the Minister of Interior, aims to fully integrate all vehicles into the national database.

A coordination meeting, held via video conference with officials overseeing the registration process across various states, focused on streamlining procedures for this new phase. The primary goal of Phase Three is to incorporate vehicles registered prior to the implementation of the new digital system. This will be achieved by utilizing state-level registration records, ensuring a smooth transition and improving the efficiency of file processing within relevant departments.

The meeting served as a platform to exchange feedback with state representatives and address concerns arising from the previous two phases, which were implemented in May and October 2025. Those phases focused on vehicles imported by individuals that are less than three years old, in addition to newly imported vehicles.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to the comprehensive and effective implementation of the national information system. This system is designed to simplify the registration process for citizens, making it more organized and standardized across the country.

Key benefits of the new system include:

  • Streamlined registration procedures
  • Improved data accuracy
  • Enhanced efficiency for government agencies
  • A unified national database of vehicles

The ministry believes that this initiative will contribute significantly to improving public services and ensuring better governance in the transportation sector.
