Setif: Four Injured in Heater Explosion

Setif, Algeria – Four people, including a woman and children, were injured early this morning following a heater explosion in a residential building in Setif province.

The incident occurred in an apartment located in the 1500 housing unit complex in Ouled Saber, a municipality within the Khelil district. The building is described as having a ground floor plus eight additional stories.

According to local Civil Protection services, they were alerted to the incident and responded at approximately 6:45 AM. Emergency responders provided immediate medical assistance to the injured at the scene before transporting them to a local hospital for further treatment.

DZWatch understands that the Civil Protection deployed a fire truck and two ambulances to manage the situation and assist the victims.

An investigation into the cause of the explosion is currently underway. Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution when using heating appliances, particularly during the colder months, and to ensure proper ventilation to prevent gas buildup.
