Algeria Eyes Stronger Future After Diplomatic, Economic Gains

DZWatch – Algeria has entered the new year with renewed determination, building upon significant diplomatic and developmental achievements secured in recent times. According to the latest issue of the prestigious El Djeich magazine, the nation is poised for further progress, fueled by a strengthened national will.

The January edition of the magazine leads with a powerful editorial titled, ‘A New Year with Stronger Will,’ highlighting Algeria’s successful 2025, marked by notable political and diplomatic accomplishments, alongside tangible advancements in development and national security. These gains, the magazine asserts, have solidified Algeria’s position on both regional and international stages.

The publication underscored Algeria’s active diplomatic role and its powerful voice within the United Nations Security Council. During its tenure as a non-permanent member, Algeria resolutely championed just causes, most notably the Palestinian cause. The editorial emphasized Algeria’s unwavering condemnation of the Israeli aggression in Gaza, its exposure of crimes against the Palestinian people, and its continued advocacy for an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

El Djeich also reiterated Algeria’s steadfast commitment to defending the Sahrawi cause and the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination. It further highlighted Algeria’s prominent role in supporting African issues and opposing marginalization within the continent. These principled stances, the magazine noted, have enhanced the trust of African nations in Algeria, culminating in its election as Vice-President of the African Union Commission and a member of the Peace and Security Council.

Domestically, the editorial pointed to significant developmental momentum across vital sectors, including housing, energy, mining, infrastructure, and healthcare. These achievements are attributed not to chance, but to the clear vision of the highest authorities and the coordinated efforts of state institutions, supported by the will of the Algerian people.

The magazine further emphasized the pivotal role of the People’s National Army (ANP) in enhancing operational readiness, securing borders, combating terrorism and organized crime, and contributing to national development, thereby safeguarding national security and citizen well-being. Looking ahead to 2026, Algeria aims to leverage these foundations for continued growth and progress in building a stronger, more prosperous nation.
