Algiers, Algeria – Severe weather conditions, characterized by heavy snowfall and significant rainfall, have led to the closure of several national and regional roads across various Algerian provinces. Authorities are urging travelers to exercise extreme caution and avoid affected routes until further notice.
The recent weather disturbances have temporarily disrupted traffic flow in multiple regions. Here’s a summary of the road closures:
Tizi Ouzou: The National Road 33, connecting Tizi Ouzou and Bouira, is closed at the Assoul area in Ait Boumahdi municipality due to heavy snow accumulation.
Bouira: National Road 33 is also closed in the Akoukar area of Bechloul municipality, again due to snow accumulation.
Djelfa: National Road 01A, linking Djelfa and Laghouat, is impassable at the Oued El Meit bridge in Hassi Bahbah municipality due to rising water levels.
Blida: Traffic is halted on Regional Road 110, which connects Blida and Tipaza, at the Ben Hamdani center in Ben Khelil municipality due to flooding.
Tlemcen: National Road 22, between Tirni and Sebdou municipalities, specifically at Tel Tirni village, is affected by high water levels.
Relizane: Regional Road 52, connecting Relizane and Mostaganem, is closed at Douar Es-Salahia in Beni Zentis municipality for the same reason.
Authorities have confirmed that traffic remains normal on unaffected roads. However, a strong appeal is being made to all road users to exercise utmost caution. Travelers are advised to avoid traveling through the closed sections until weather conditions improve and the roads are reopened. Further updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
