Algeria Launches Sovereign Sukuk Offering for Investors

The Algerian Public Treasury has announced the official launch of the subscription process for sovereign Sukuk Ijarah – Usufruct, effective January 27th. This initiative marks a significant step in the development of the national financial market and the promotion of Islamic finance within Algeria.

This offering aligns with a broader vision aimed at diversifying state funding sources, mobilizing national savings, and providing financial instruments compliant with Islamic finance principles. The Sukuk serve as a complementary mechanism to existing financing methods.

The Sovereign Sukuk Ijarah – Usufruct represents a unique financial product within the Algerian market, both in its nature and issuance mechanism. It is backed by tangible state-owned assets, offering an attractive, secure, accessible, and transparent investment opportunity. This responds to the growing demand for Sharia-compliant products.

Due to the exceptional nature of this offering and the targeted issuance volume, the subscription process is limited. It will close once the issuance targets are met, enhancing its appeal and strategic importance.

Subscription will be open to the public through authorized institutions, with details available on the official Sukuk website: https://sukuk.mf.gov.dz/.

This initiative embodies the public authorities’ commitment to promoting financial inclusion, stimulating the capital market, and fostering confidence in new financial instruments.

The Public Treasury encourages all citizens, residents and non-residents alike, who wish to participate in this process, to contact the authorized partners, particularly banks, insurance companies, and Wilaya treasuries, to obtain all the necessary information and complete the subscription process within the specified deadlines.

Important Note: Subscription closes once targets are reached.
