The President of the Republic emphasized on Tuesday that the “New Algeria” is closely linked to the November reference, highlighting the achievements made in recent years across various levels. He noted that these achievements embody economic and social policies whose fruits are visible daily throughout the country’s regions, expressing satisfaction with the public’s positive reception of various new projects.
In a message delivered on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the General Union of Algerian Workers and the 55th anniversary of the nationalization of hydrocarbons, read by the Prime Minister in Oran, the President expressed deep appreciation for the men and women dedicated to major projects. He pointed out that the achievements put into service recently, those currently under construction, and others scheduled to launch soon are evidence of confidence in the path Algeria is taking, reflecting policies that manifest results nationwide.
The President expressed satisfaction with the reception of new projects, stating that the feelings of celebration observed during the inauguration of the Western Mining Railway line, along with other structural projects, confirm that current national policies are based on feasibility, realism, and sovereign political decisions. He explained that this approach reflects the doctrine of a victorious “New Algeria,” which is deeply tied to the November reference and the legacy of the liberation revolution. He described it as a pragmatic doctrine focused on building bridges of cooperation and partnership with all continents based on mutual interests.
Regarding the nationalization of hydrocarbons, the President stressed the significance of this historical sovereign decision. He noted that through collective efforts, commercial energy production has doubled, making Algeria the seventh-largest gas exporter in the world, the third-largest supplier to the European market, and the holder of the third-largest oil reserves in Africa.
The President praised the efforts and mobilization of workers and professionals, urging them to maintain the same spirit as their predecessors during this stage of development. He emphasized the value of labor as a driver for sustainable development and encouraged young talents to achieve technical excellence and master modern technology. He concluded his message by saluting workers in the hydrocarbon sector for their determination to develop the industry and increase its capacities.
The Secretary-General of the General Union of Algerian Workers stated in Oran that commemorating these anniversaries serves as an occasion to value the achievements and gains made in various fields. Speaking at a ceremony in the Arzew industrial zone, he highlighted that Algeria possesses the human capital necessary to win economic development battles, emphasizing the role of human resources in achieving social and economic growth.
He noted that Algeria’s human capital is represented by workers who served as a fortress in defending the nation during the revolution, through the years of construction, and during the “Black Decade,” sacrificing everything to ensure the country remained free and strong. He added that the sacrifices of these workers remain a source of inspiration for patriotism and honor, providing an opportunity to draw lessons from the past and appreciate the social and economic gains of independent Algeria.
