The National Fund for Agricultural Cooperation and the National Association of Algerian Exporters signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at supporting national agriculture in international markets and enhancing the presence of Algerian agricultural products in the export sector, according to a statement from the Fund on Thursday.
The statement explained that this agreement is part of a vision aimed at making agriculture and the agri-food industry key pillars for diversifying the national economy and creating added value, in light of the acceleration of international trade and the need to strengthen the competitiveness of national production sectors.
Under this partnership, the National Fund for Agricultural Cooperation is committed to encouraging farmers to include an export dimension within their development strategies by expanding commercial outlets and raising production standards, particularly regarding quality improvement, traceability, and product compliance with foreign market requirements.
For its part, the National Association of Algerian Exporters will place its expertise at the disposal of producers and agri-food processing operators to assist them in understanding international trade mechanisms and regulatory procedures, as well as exploring opportunities offered by target markets.
The agreement aims to establish a structured framework for cooperation between agricultural producers, processors, and exporters within a value chain logic, allowing for the organization of national supply and making it more competitive, sustainable, and compliant with standards adopted in international markets.
In the context of implementing this agreement, a program of meetings and awareness activities will be launched throughout 2026, through the organization of regional meetings to introduce farmers to export challenges and promote a culture of orientation toward foreign markets.
A national meeting is also expected to be organized, bringing together agricultural producers, agri-food industry operators, and exporters to discuss the prospects for developing sectors with high export potential and the conditions necessary to increase their competitiveness.
The statement emphasized that this initiative reflects the commitment of the National Fund for Agricultural Cooperation to support the development of the national agricultural market by combining its institutional expertise with that of the National Association of Algerian Exporters, contributing to the emergence of national agriculture open to international markets and generating new opportunities for Algerian producers.
