Sonatrach Group announced in a statement a tragic accident this morning involving a snubbing unit belonging to the National Well Services Company at the Hassi Messaoud field.
The group’s statement reported that the accident resulted in the death of two workers, in addition to the injury of four others who were evacuated to regional hospitals.
Sonatrach explained that the accident occurred during a maintenance operation, where a fire broke out at the unit. Sonatrach’s intervention team subsequently closed the well and extinguished the fire.
