Skikda Port: 3,000 tons of iron exported to Mauritania

The Skikda Port Authority witnessed a new export operation reflecting the dynamics of Algerian foreign trade, with a significant quantity of construction iron shipped to African markets.

According to a statement from the Skikda Port Authority, the shipment consisted of 3,000 tons of reinforced steel (RDX rebar), an essential material in the construction and public works sector, reflecting the growing demand for it.

The shipment departed from the Port of Skikda bound for Mauritania, as part of efforts to strengthen trade exchanges between Algeria and African countries.

The maritime transport was handled by the National Navigation Company (CNAN), which continues to play a pivotal role in supporting Algerian non-hydrocarbon exports.

This operation is part of the national strategy aimed at diversifying the economy and encouraging exports, as Algeria seeks to strengthen its presence in African markets and develop trade relations with various partners.

Such operations are expected to contribute to increasing the volume of trade and strengthening the position of Algerian ports as important logistical hubs in the Mediterranean basin and Africa.
