Eighty preliminary partnership agreements in the fields of investment and export were signed during the eighth edition of the International Exhibition for Investment in Industry, Construction, Energy, Logistics, and Export (Algeria Invest Expo), which concluded on Sunday at the Mohamed Ben Ahmed Convention Center in Oran.
The exhibition’s commissioner, Ahmed Haniche, stated that these agreements were concluded between national public and private operators and their foreign counterparts. They cover several sectors, particularly the export of various products to African countries, such as building materials, electrical and household appliances, and services.
On this occasion, two direct export agreements were signed concerning building materials, wood, and its derivatives to Tunisia and Mauritania. Additionally, investment agreements were reached to establish factories and production units in various industrial fields, especially building materials and household appliances, in several African countries, including Guinea, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
The four-day economic event, organized by the Sunflower Communication agency under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry, saw the participation of businessmen from Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, and Pakistan specializing in imports. The goal was to establish commercial partnerships with national companies and open new horizons for exporting Algerian products.
The event also saw visits from approximately 30 trade relations officials representing 30 accredited embassies in Algeria from Africa, Asia, and Europe to explore direct investment opportunities and promote the export of national products.
The exhibition recorded a significant professional turnout, with the number of visitors exceeding 15,000 from various provinces, alongside businessmen and representatives of diplomatic missions. There was also considerable interest from students and project holders wishing to establish micro-enterprises in several fields.
During the event, five public and private companies were honored as part of a competition for the best projects with a positive impact on the economy, environment, sustainable development, innovation, and export.
This edition featured 153 national and foreign exhibitors, including approximately 130 national companies representing more than 80 percent of the total participants, alongside foreign companies and branches of international firms operating in Algeria, notably from China, Italy, Turkey, and India.
The exhibition included seminars and discussions on several topics, including renewable energy, industrial development through sourcing, logistics and exporter support, sustainable industry and carbon footprint reduction, smart energy demand management, as well as economic partnerships and the promotion of investment and export.
In parallel, the same venue hosted the African Construction, Infrastructure, and Technology Exhibition under the slogan “Innovation, Technology, and Construction for Tomorrow’s Africa,” with the participation of institutions and operators from Algeria and other African countries specializing in construction, public works, infrastructure, and urban planning.
