OPEC+ Alliance to Increase Oil Production by 206,000 Barrels Per Day

Algeria participated on Sunday via videoconference in ministerial meetings dedicated to monitoring the implementation of evaluation and follow-up mechanisms related to the decisions of countries participating in the OPEC+ Declaration of Cooperation.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Algeria took part in the coordination meeting of the group of eight countries involved in voluntary production cuts, alongside Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Oman, and Russia.

Following the discussions, the member states of the group decided to increase their total production by 206,000 barrels per day during the month of May. These countries also renewed their commitment to maintaining close coordination, emphasizing the importance of continuous and precise monitoring of global oil market developments.

Algeria also participated in the 65th meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC), which includes Algeria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Venezuela, as well as Kazakhstan and Russia.

This meeting was dedicated to evaluating the compliance of countries participating in the OPEC+ Declaration of Cooperation with their voluntary production cut commitments during the months of January and February 2026.

At the conclusion of the proceedings, the committee praised the ongoing efforts of the participating countries, stressing that strict and continuous adherence to collective decisions remains a decisive factor in supporting the stability and balance of the global oil market.
