DZWatch has learned that Algerian national team goalkeeper Luca Zidane has lauded captain Riyad Mahrez as one of the greatest players in the history of Algerian football. Zidane's insights came during an extensive interview with the French magazine *Onze Mondial*, where he highlighted several talents within the Fennecs' squad.

When questioned about the players who have particularly impressed him, the Spanish club Granada's goalkeeper articulated his admiration for the team's blend of established stars and promising youth. "We have many talented young players," Zidane stated. "Of course, there's Riyad Mahrez. Everyone knows him and his career achievements; he is an exceptional player and truly one of the best in Algerian history. His left foot is like a glove."
Zidane also acknowledged the defensive prowess of Ramy Bensebaini and Aïssa Mandi, remarking, "Then there's Ramy Bensebaini and Aïssa Mandi, who are very strong defenders. You feel secure playing behind them."
His praise extended to the midfield maestro Ismaël Bennacer. "In the middle, there's Ismaël Bennacer. If you pass him the ball, you know you won't have a problem; he rarely loses it and possesses amazing vision," Zidane added.
Concluding his assessment, Zidane highlighted two emerging talents, Ibrahim Maza and Anis Hadj Moussa, with considerable optimism. "There are also Hadj Moussa and Maza, two young players we will be talking about a lot in the future because they are excellent," he affirmed, pointing to a bright future for Algerian football.
