General d'Armée Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian National People's Army (ANP), has affirmed the military's readiness to contribute to the success of the upcoming legislative elections. To guarantee a serene and tranquil environment for citizens to exercise their civic duty, all command levels within the ANP are tasked with implementing necessary security and operational measures. General Chanegriha stressed that adapting the defense apparatus in response to international geopolitical shifts is decisive for building a robust army capable of meeting contemporary challenges.

He further elaborated on the evolving global landscape, noting that nations must continuously strengthen their geostrategic capabilities, enhance popular and economic resilience, and adapt defense systems, alongside developing scientific and technological potential. Proactive planning, flexible decision-making, and resource mobilization are key to Algeria's active role in an unstable world.

The ANP is actively engaged in modernizing its defense systems across all dimensions, contributing to a unifying national narrative that serves the state's vital interests. This modernization includes developing technological capacities, training personnel to expertly operate advanced weapon systems, securing national supply chains, and fostering a domestic defense industry.

Chanegriha also highlighted the ANP's role in fostering societal resilience against disinformation and cognitive manipulation, working with national media to counter hostile propaganda and psychological warfare. The military aims to shape a unifying national narrative aligned with state interests.

In this context, the ANP remains vigilant against subversive elements utilizing technology for espionage and subversion, particularly targeting sensitive government IT systems to incite crisis and chaos. The army continues to fulfill its missions with unwavering commitment, combating terrorism, organized crime, and cross-border smuggling—threats aimed at undermining social cohesion and economic development.

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has previously stated that Algeria, with the ANP's support, will secure its rightful regional and international standing. He described the Algerian army as peaceful yet fiercely defensive, warning against any aggression and stressing the importance of national unity and the cohesive strength of the people and their army.

Observers note that Algeria is building its state institutions on solid foundations, away from suspicion and inadequacy, with the consolidation of the internal front being the primary strategy to thwart destabilization attempts and foreign interference. The ANP, accustomed to assessing risks along Algeria's vast borders, is prepared to counter threats from terrorism, organized crime, and arms proliferation.

Algeria's self-reliance has positioned it as a key player in regional security, especially given the heightened terrorist activity in neighboring regions. The ANP maintains constant vigilance and rigorous deployment to safeguard the nation's security and territorial integrity.

Chanegriha also addressed the nature of modern warfare, emphasizing the ANP's focus on acquiring modern equipment and developing qualified human resources. He stressed that in today's rapidly evolving conflicts, failure to adapt in reasoning, planning, and combat proficiency makes forces vulnerable to enemy actions.

He reiterated the conviction that modern weaponry is only effective when operated by skilled personnel. Therefore, significant efforts have been dedicated to enhancing both equipment and human capabilities. Officers at the War College are encouraged to continuously expand their knowledge through reading and practical experience, preparing them to adeptly handle new situations and advanced technologies.
