The meeting delved into the ambitious phosphate fertilizer production complex, a project poised to significantly boost agricultural output. This integrated phosphate initiative, designed for the production of ammonia and urea, is slated to commence production in the first quarter of 2027.

Complementing these developments, the extension project for the port of Annaba is scheduled for completion within the same timeframe, ensuring the efficient export of initial phosphate shipments. In parallel, the meeting addressed the financing and expedited launch of the vital Algiers-Tamanrasset railway line, a project of immense national importance. Work on this transformative infrastructure is set to commence by September at the latest, divided into three major phases: Ouargla-In Salah, In Salah-Tamanrasset, and Tamanrasset-In Salah.
The high-level meeting included Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, Minister of State and Inspector General of State Services and Local Authorities Brahim Merad, Minister of State for Hydrocarbons Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Finance Abdelkrim Bouzred, Governor of the Bank of Algeria Mohammed Lamine Lebbou, and the Chairman and CEO of Sonatrach, Nour Eddine Daoudi, underscoring the government's unified focus on these critical national projects.
