This crucial intervention resulted in the seizure of an all-terrain vehicle, five Kalashnikov submachine guns, three FMPK machine guns, four Dushka machine guns, an anti-aircraft machine gun, an RPG-7 rocket launcher, a mortar, four PG7V rockets, 2,587 rounds of various calibers, eight ammunition magazines, and two mobile phones. The ANP's decisive action underscores its unwavering vigilance and determination to secure national borders and thwart all attempts to undermine Algeria's security and stability.
General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the ANP, recently emphasized the army's critical role in safeguarding upcoming legislative elections. He highlighted that these elections represent a pivotal step in completing the state's political reform process, initiated with the revision of the November 1, 2020 Constitution. General Chanegriha stressed the imperative for all ANP command echelons and security services to ensure the success of the electoral process, guaranteeing citizens can exercise their constitutional rights in a serene environment.
Addressing the evolving geopolitical landscape, General Chanegriha noted that the current international climate, marked by shifts in global power balances, necessitates a continuous adaptation of Algeria's defense capabilities. He stated that national strength no longer relies solely on past glories but on the sustained enhancement of geostrategic and systemic potential, bolstering popular and economic resilience, and developing scientific and technological capacities.
In this context, anticipating planning, flexible decision-making, and the ability to mobilize state resources are crucial for Algeria's active presence in an unstable world. The ANP, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, is committed to adapting its defense systems across all dimensions. This includes advancing technological capabilities of weapon systems, training skilled personnel for their effective operation, securing national supply chains, and localizing defense industries.
Furthermore, the ANP plays a vital role in fostering societal resilience against disinformation and psychological warfare. Collaborating with national media, the army actively works to dismantle hostile propaganda and unify a national narrative that serves the state's vital interests. General Chanegriha warned against subversive organizations exploiting advanced technology for espionage and subversion, particularly targeting sensitive government systems to create crises and sow discord between the people and their institutions.
Algeria, relying on its own capabilities, remains a leading actor in regional security within a highly active terrorist environment. The ANP continues to confront residual terrorist groups and cross-border organized crime with unwavering determination, adapting to complex regional conditions. President Tebboune reaffirmed Algeria's steadfast commitment to securing its rightful regional and international standing, supported by a peaceful yet fiercely protective army ready to counter any threats to the nation's integrity.
