Algeria Revitalizes Pressed Glass Manufacturing in Chlef with 1 Billion Dinar Investment

Algeria is taking significant steps to modernize its industrial sector and reduce its reliance on imports. The Algerian Chemical Specialties Holding Company (ACS) has officially relaunched pressed glass manufacturing at the NOVER factory complex in Chlef, a key subsidiary of the ENAVA Group. This strategic industrial revival comes after the successful reconstruction and commissioning of the plant’s main melting furnace, which is already executing its first commercial orders for the domestic market.

Backed by an investment exceeding 1 billion Algerian Dinars (DZD), the project was funded through NOVER’s own resources alongside comprehensive financial and technical support from the parent group, ENAVA. The relaunch aligns directly with the Algerian government's broader strategic vision to revitalize domestic manufacturing, secure industrial supply chains, and boost national self-sufficiency.

Local authorities and industrial experts view the revival of the Chlef facility as a crucial milestone for the region’s economic ecosystem. Beyond creating high-value industrial jobs, the project enhances Algeria's position as a regional manufacturing hub, laying a solid foundation for future export potential in the glass and chemical sectors.
