Algerian Minister of the Interior, Local Collectivities, and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, conducted an inspection visit to the Port of Algiers to assess working conditions and service delivery. During his visit, Minister Sayoud emphasized the critical need for optimal reception conditions and accelerated processing of goods, as detailed in a ministry statement.

Meeting with port officials and executives, Sayoud stressed the imperative to boost performance and enhance the quality of port services. He noted that the state has provided all necessary human and material resources for the infrastructure's management, underscoring the necessity of implementing solutions to ensure the required efficiency.
In this context, the minister issued directives to expedite the processing and evacuation of merchandise within short timeframes. He urged relevant economic operators to collect their goods promptly to alleviate pressure on the port, reduce congestion, minimize processing times, and improve the flow of ship traffic and port operations.
Minister Sayoud ordered the implementation of a continuous work system and the full utilization of available resources to ensure uninterrupted activity and speed up the processing of various port operations. He underscored the importance of eliminating waiting times at the port and called for strengthened coordination with all stakeholders, particularly the National Security services and Customs, to guarantee operational fluidity and rapid processing.
Sayoud commended the positive results already achieved at Algerian ports, attributing them to the concerted efforts of all parties involved. He highlighted the ongoing need to optimize port services, according to the ministry's statement.
