Levante Sign Algerian Defender Aïssa Mandi from Lille Until 2028

Spanish club Levante UD announced on Thursday the signing of Algerian international defender Aïssa Mandi from French side Lille, strengthening its squad with a player who has extensive experience in Spanish football.

The Valencia-based club confirmed the deal through its account on X. Mandi has signed a contract that will keep him at Levante until the summer of 2028.

Levante hopes the arrival of the Algerian defender will add experience, leadership and defensive stability to the team. Mandi is already familiar with La Liga, having previously represented Real Betis and Villarreal during spells in Spain.

His knowledge of Spanish football, combined with his international experience, is expected to help him adapt quickly. The defender has spent several seasons competing at a high level in Europe and has faced many leading teams in Spanish and continental competitions.

Mandi joins Levante after playing for Lille in France, where he continued his European club career. His return to Spain marks a new chapter for the Algerian international, who will now aim to secure an important role in Levante’s defence and contribute to the club’s sporting objectives.

The signing also gives Levante a versatile defensive option. Mandi can operate in central defence and has the experience required to organise the back line, support younger teammates and manage difficult moments during matches.

For Algerian football supporters, the move offers an opportunity to follow one of the national team’s experienced defenders in La Liga once again. Mandi’s performances will also be closely watched ahead of future international fixtures with Algeria.

Levante is expected to rely on his professionalism, tactical awareness and familiarity with the Spanish championship as the club prepares for the coming season. The agreement running until 2028 demonstrates the club’s confidence in his ability to make a valuable contribution over the next two years.
