Military Industries Deliver 160 New Buses for Public Transport

Algeria's Military Industries Directorate, under the Ministry of National Defense, has commenced the delivery of 160 large buses. This significant handover, taking place at the industrial site in Rouiba, Algiers, marks a tangible step in implementing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's national program aimed at enhancing public transport services across the country.

The newly delivered buses are designated for several urban and suburban transport companies across various wilayas. Specifically, Blida received 20 buses, while Tiaret, Sétif, M'sila, and Bordj Bou Arreridj each received 35 buses. This distribution is designed to directly benefit local communities by modernizing and expanding their public transportation options.

This initial delivery is part of a larger national initiative, previously announced by President Tebboune, to progressively import 10,000 new passenger transport buses. The comprehensive program seeks to renew the national bus fleet, with future operations expected to follow. These subsequent deliveries will be personally supervised by Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, following the first shipment's arrival at Algiers port on February 1, 2026.
