Trade Minister Rezig Meets Belarusian Envoy on Economic Ties

Minister Kamal Rezig, Algeria's Minister of External Trade and Export Promotion, recently met with Yevgeny Sobolevsky, the Belarusian Ambassador to Algeria, along with a delegation of Belarusian businessmen, at the Ministry's headquarters. The discussions centered on enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two nations and opening new avenues for partnership among economic operators.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the current state of bilateral economic relations and assess the available potential to increase and diversify trade volume. The focus was on aligning trade activities with the capacities of both the Algerian and Belarusian markets, particularly in sectors that offer high added value.
Both parties emphasized the importance of intensifying direct communication between their respective economic institutions and operators. They also encouraged the establishment of productive and sustainable partnerships, aiming to transition from mere commercial exchanges to the realization of joint investment and industrial projects that serve the mutual interests of Algeria and Belarus.
Minister Rezig highlighted the significance of strengthening the presence of Algerian products in international markets, specifically by exploring new export opportunities within the Belarusian market. Additionally, the discussions covered leveraging the expertise and capabilities offered by Belarusian institutions across various fields. This diplomatic engagement builds upon previous interactions, including an official visit by Minister of State Ahmed Attaf to Minsk in August, which was tasked by the presidency to advance bilateral partnership.
