SAIPEM Initiates Fertilizer Complex Build in Oued Kebrit

Algeria has commenced the construction of a new fertilizer complex in Oued Kebrit. This integrated facility is designed for extraction, treatment, and production, aiming for a total capacity of nearly 3 million tons of fertilizers annually.

The project's primary objectives include enhancing the valorization of local phosphates, strengthening national self-sufficiency in fertilizers, and increasing export capabilities. The complex's planned output includes 2.4 million tons of phosphate fertilizers and 570,000 tons of nitrogen fertilizers.

Italian company SAIPEM has been tasked with the construction of this significant industrial undertaking. The initiative represents a strategic step for Algeria to diversify its economy and expand its export portfolio, leveraging its natural resources.
