Belgian Capital Hosts Algerian Cultural Heritage Display

An Algerian cultural event recently took place at the "Al-Qasbah" cultural and literary cafe in central Brussels, Belgium. Organized by the Association of Algerian Women in Belgium, the initiative aimed to celebrate the authenticity of Algerian heritage and reinforce national identity among the diaspora.

The event featured displays of traditional Algerian clothing, prominently showcasing the white Al-Hayek, which carries historical and symbolic significance rooted in Algerian memory. Also presented was the Blouza Oranaise, which garnered attention with its vibrant colors and authentic traditional embroidery, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of western Algeria.

Attendees, visitors, and members of the Algerian community residing in Belgium lauded the beauty of the traditional garments and underscored the importance of such cultural endeavors. These initiatives are recognized for their role in introducing and preserving national heritage from potential loss or distortion.
