The 29th Algiers International Book Fair, known as SILA, is scheduled to open officially on October 28, 2026, with public access from October 29 through November 7. Hosted at the Palais des Expositions in the Pins Maritimes district of Mohammadia, Algiers, the event is expected to draw participation from over 1,500 publishers representing 51 countries. Saudi Arabia has been designated as the guest of honor for this year's cultural gathering.

Organizers anticipate the attendance of 1,567 publishing houses, including approximately 350 Algerian exhibitors. The international presence will comprise 554 publishers from various Arab countries and 663 from other regions worldwide. Throughout its ten-day run, the fair will feature a diverse program, including literary discussions, book signings, and activities specifically designed for younger readers. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore publications across a wide range of genres and languages.

Commissioner Mohamed Iguerb has presented the event as a vital meeting place for literary creation and the preservation of national memory. Beyond its cultural significance, the Algiers International Book Fair serves as an important commercial platform, offering publishers distribution opportunities and access to readers across North Africa. Admission to the fair will be free for all visitors, with daily operating hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
