Algeria Hosts Consultative Ministerial Meeting of the Tripartite Neighbors Mechanism on Libya

Algeria is hosting today, Sunday, October 25, 2026, the proceedings of the consultative ministerial meeting of the Tripartite Mechanism of Libya’s Neighboring Countries, with the participation of the foreign ministers of Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt.
Taking part in the meeting are Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs; Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad; and Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, according to the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry explained that the meeting falls within the continuous efforts of the three countries to strengthen coordination and consultation among themselves, in order to contribute to reaching a Libyan-led, consensual and inclusive political solution. Such a solution would be based on dialogue among the various Libyan parties and would lead to free and fair parliamentary and presidential elections, from which unified and strong institutions would emerge to fulfill the Libyan people’s aspirations for security and stability.
During the meeting, the ministers will review the latest developments in Libya, particularly on the political and security fronts, and will exchange views on ways to advance the political settlement process under United Nations auspices, in a manner that ensures an end to the division and preserves Libya’s unity and sovereignty.
