Air Algérie Resumes Direct Flights to Libyan Capital

Air Algérie's official resumption of direct flights to Tripoli, Libya, announced on September 30, marks a significant step in re-establishing regional air links. Bookings are now open for this route, with the inaugural flight from Algiers to Tripoli scheduled for October 28. This new service enhances connectivity between the two capitals.

The national airline offers round-trip flights between Algiers and Tripoli starting from 53,527 Algerian Dinars. One-way travel from Algiers begins at 28,383 DZD, while return flights start from 25,144 DZD. These fares include both hand luggage and checked baggage, with tickets being modifiable but non-refundable. Air Algérie had previously suspended its operations in the Libyan market following the civil war in the neighboring country after 2011.

The re-establishment of the Tripoli route is part of Air Algérie's broader international redeployment strategy, which includes reopening historical routes and introducing new services across Africa and Asia. This initiative aims to expand the airline's network from Algiers International Airport, reinforcing its role as a vital hub connecting Africa with Asia, North America, and Europe. This expansion is supported by recent acquisitions of new aircraft from manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing.
