Algerie Telecom Funds Djanet Hospital Equipment

In a move to bolster the healthcare system in Algeria's far south, an agreement for funding and sponsorship was recently signed between Algerie Telecom and the Public Hospital Institution in Djanet. The Wali of Djanet oversaw this initiative, which is designed to equip the hospital with the latest advanced medical equipment and tools.

This initiative aligns with Algerie Telecom's social responsibility programs, aiming to directly improve the quality of health services for the region's residents. The agreement seeks to establish a comfortable treatment environment that meets the expectations of both patients and medical staff. Officials involved in the initiative highlighted that this modern equipment will significantly reduce the necessity for patients to undertake arduous journeys of hundreds of kilometers to larger wilayas and northern hospitals for treatment or specialized examinations, while also providing advanced diagnostic tools to ensure precise diagnoses and swift care for critical cases.

The agreement is also intended to lay a solid health infrastructure foundation, enabling the nascent Djanet Wilaya to achieve comprehensive hospital readiness. This readiness will be capable of meeting the demands of its population, as well as the region's burgeoning tourism and economic activities. The initiative reflects the commitment of the state and its national economic institutions to support sustainable development across the Grand South wilayas, ensuring essential services are brought closer to citizens.
