Agriest Expo Unites 130 Exhibitors for Agricultural Growth
The Fifth International Agriculture and Agri-food Exhibition in Constantine brings together 130 exhibitors to enhance national production quality and open new avenues for export and cooperation. The event aims to foster dialogue, introduce modern techniques, and boost the sector's competitiveness.

Constantine is currently hosting the Fifth International Agriculture and Agri-food Exhibition, known as Agriest Expo, which runs until October 31. The event has attracted 130 exhibitors from both within Algeria and internationally, gathering various stakeholders from the agricultural sector. Professionals and representatives from specialized companies covering animal husbandry, milk production, fruit tree cultivation, animal and plant health, processing and packaging, and agricultural chemicals are participating. Additionally, Algerian Civil Protection and Customs, along with banking institutions and insurance companies, are present, showcasing products, defining activities, and facilitating the exchange of expertise across diverse fields.
Hamza Malik, an expert in agriculture and agricultural risks, highlighted the crucial role of specialized exhibitions like Agriest Expo as vital platforms for producers, artisans, and operators to display their products and share experiences. He emphasized that these events should transcend mere product display to become forums for constructive dialogue, allowing for the discussion of concerns, exchange of views, and the formulation of practical recommendations for the supervisory ministry. This approach is intended to positively impact agricultural development and improve conditions for producers, reflecting the vitality and diversity of the national agricultural sector.
Mr. Malik further advocated for fostering a culture of competition among agricultural operators through organized contests and awards for superior products and breeders, particularly valuing those adhering to health and environmental standards. Such initiatives are expected to incentivize producers to enhance product quality and elevate standards, thereby creating a competitive dynamic within the sector. Moreover, he noted the importance of consistently introducing new technologies and improved products at each edition, aiming to showcase items with high marketability both domestically and internationally, ultimately broadening promotion and trade opportunities for producers.
Beyond fostering individual improvement, the Agriest Expo provides opportunities for producers in similar specialties to collaborate, encouraging collective efforts through cooperatives to leverage shared resources and expertise. The exhibition's agenda includes professional business meetings between exhibitors and representatives from various foreign embassies, focusing on cooperation and expanding trade. Lectures and workshops are also being held to discuss the development of agricultural production and food industries in line with international quality standards, alongside strategies to enhance export capabilities to foreign markets, thereby contributing to the sector's dynamism and competitiveness.
