Agro-Industrial Groups Ensure National Table Oil Supply
Leading Algerian agro-industrial groups, including Cevital, SIM, and La Belle, have confirmed that their table oil production units are operating at full capacity. This ensures a stable and continuous supply for the national market, addressing concerns about availability.

Several major Algerian agro-industrial groups, including Cevital, SIM, and La Belle, have affirmed that their table oil production units across the country are operating at a consistent pace and at full capacity. This collective assurance aims to guarantee a stable and normal supply for the national market, effectively ensuring product availability for consumers nationwide.
Specifically, Cevital Agroalimentaire has stated its commitment to regularly supplying edible oils to the national market, reporting no current disruptions to production or distribution. Similarly, SIM Industries Alimentaires confirmed that table oil production is continuing normally under its Zitna and El Bahia brands, noting that its production units are functioning regularly and raw materials are readily available to meet national demand. The La Belle group also reassured citizens, confirming that its units are operating normally and at full capacity, producing sufficient quantities to cover consumer needs across various regions and committing to uninterrupted production and supply to contribute to market stability for this essential product.
These proactive statements from leading producers directly address information circulating on social media regarding potential table oil shortages and possible price increases, which had caused consumer concerns. The consistent and full-capacity operation of these national industrial groups underscores Algeria's robust capability to maintain the availability of essential foodstuffs and provides reassurance to the public.
Algeria's annual table oil production exceeds one million tons, categorizing it as a vital product that is subsidized by the state and sold at regulated prices. Further demonstrating a commitment to market stability, a meeting was held on October 26, involving the Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, Amel Abdellatif, with prominent oil and sugar producers, alongside representatives from the Industry and Foreign Trade sectors. This meeting focused on examining security stocks and production capacities to ensure continuous product availability, especially in anticipation of the month of Ramadan.
