Security Forces Dismantle Drug Networks, Seize 96kg Cocaine

Algerian security forces have successfully dismantled two major transnational drug trafficking networks, leading to the arrest of 33 individuals. These significant operations resulted in the seizure of nearly one quintal, equivalent to over 96 kilograms, of cocaine, alongside more than one million psychotropic tablets.

Of the total cocaine seized, 30 kilograms were identified as originating from Morocco. Investigations further revealed that these organized networks, which possessed an international scope, commenced their illicit activities from Morocco. Specialized operational services in Algeria's western regions conducted the successive operations that led to these decisive actions.

These successful interceptions highlight the sustained efforts and effectiveness of Algerian security services in combating organized crime. The actions taken protect national borders and public health from the proliferation of illicit substances. In addition to the substantial drug seizures, operations also confiscated multiple vehicles and over 215 million centimes in national currency, identified as criminal proceeds, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the security forces' response.
