Prime Minister Presides Over Opening of Workshop on Climate Finance and Carbon Markets

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb presided today, Tuesday, over the opening of the workshop on climate finance and carbon markets at the "Abdellatif Rahal" International Conference Center in Algiers, held under his high patronage.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the event brings together members of the government, representatives of national and international institutions and bodies, organizations concerned with climate and finance issues, as well as a number of experts and specialists.
The two-day workshop is part of Algeria's efforts to develop an integrated and sustainable national strategy for the governance of climate finance and carbon markets, by building a unified regulatory, institutional and technical framework, and identifying practical mechanisms to mobilize financial resources and direct them toward projects related to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The statement added that the initiative seeks to move from climate commitments to concrete implementation mechanisms, allowing climate finance to be aligned with national development priorities, strengthening coordination among various sectors and institutions, and drawing on international expertise and comparative experiences in building effective national climate finance and carbon market systems.
