Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb presided today, Saturday, over the inauguration of two border quality analysis laboratories, the first at the Port of Algiers and the second at Algiers International Airport, in implementation of the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune issued at the Council of Ministers meeting held on June 7, 2026, calling for the establishment of inspection laboratories at all of the country's ports and airports.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, this initiative is part of efforts to strengthen the monitoring system for consumer products and to enhance national laboratory testing capacities, allowing various products to undergo the necessary tests and inspections and be verified for compliance with applicable standards and specifications before reaching the consumer.
This step also comes within the efforts to combat fraud and protect consumer health and safety, by providing technical and scientific support to the services responsible for quality control, thereby reinforcing public confidence in the quality of products circulating on the national market.
