European University of Peace Presents Algerian War Film

The European University of Peace recently presented the documentary film "Crossed Glances on the Algerian War" as part of its dedicated fortnight of cinema for peace. This cinematic offering aims to provide a platform for reflection on the historical conflict and its enduring impact.
The film features the testimonies of two men who experienced the Algerian War: Mouloud, identified as a former member of the National Liberation Front (FLN), and Marcel, a former conscript in Algeria. It also includes the perspectives of their children, thereby extending the narrative to explore the traces left by the war across generations and the intergenerational dialogue surrounding the events.
Through these individual accounts and generational viewpoints, "Crossed Glances on the Algerian War" invites audiences to consider the possibility of reconciliation with the Algerian people. The presentation was conducted in partnership with the association 4ACG (Anciens appelés en Algérie et leurs ami-e-s contre la guerre) and included the attendance of witnesses from the era, further enriching the discussion on peace and understanding.
