Fruit Attraction 2026 Sees Algeria Sign Eight MoUs, Germany Export Deal

Algeria secured eight memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and a $3 million export contract to Germany during its participation in the 'Fruit Attraction 2026' international exhibition in Madrid. The event, held from October 6 to 8, 2026, at IFEMA Madrid, saw 10 Algerian economic operators showcase agricultural and food products under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion.

The signed MoUs facilitate the export of Algerian agricultural products to various European markets, fostering new commercial partnerships and expanding opportunities for Algerian goods abroad. Additionally, the $3 million contract specifically involves the export of plastic packaging products to the German market, indicating an increasing international demand for Algerian industrial products linked to agricultural and food value chains.

This participation served as a platform to promote Algerian products and highlight the production and export capabilities of national enterprises. It also enabled direct connections with international markets and distribution networks, particularly in Europe. Algerian operators utilized the exhibition to learn about the latest trends and technologies in agricultural value chains, including logistics, storage, cooling, packaging, digital transformation, and smart agriculture, while also identifying international cooperation and investment prospects.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion views Algeria's presence at 'Fruit Attraction 2026' as part of its strategy to increase the involvement of Algerian enterprises in specialized international economic events. This approach aims to convert participation in such exhibitions into tangible commercial opportunities, sustainable partnerships, and concrete export contracts, further bolstering Algeria's position in global trade.
