Minister Belmehdi Welcomes Al-Azhar-Bound Religious Advisors

Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youssef Belmehdi, recently welcomed the first cohort of Algerian female religious advisors designated for a specialized training course at Al-Azhar Academy for Training in Egypt. This initiative, held at the Ministry's headquarters, marks a significant step in implementing the cooperation agreement between Algeria and Egypt in the realm of religious affairs and endowments.

The group comprises religious advisors from eight wilayas: Blida, Khenchela, Bouira, Ghardaia, Tizi Ouzou, M'Sila, El Oued, and Mila. These advisors hold advanced academic degrees, including PhDs and Master's degrees, in Islamic sciences and related specializations, highlighting their established scientific competencies. The training at Al-Azhar, affiliated with the Al-Azhar Islamic Research Complex, is designed to further develop their knowledge and capacities in religious guidance.

During the reception, Minister Belmehdi urged the advisors to maximize this unique training opportunity to enhance their expertise in religious guidance, thereby elevating their performance in various areas of religious supervision and direction. He underscored the importance of this program in valuing female scientific competencies in Islamic sciences and leveraging the extensive experience and resources offered by Al-Azhar Academy within the framework of the ongoing partnership between Algeria and Egypt.
