National Campaign Promotes Road User Safety, Regulations

Algeria has initiated a comprehensive national information and awareness campaign concerning traffic law provisions, commencing recently from the Sougral passenger transport station in Kharrouba, Algiers. This significant public safety initiative operates under the slogan "Together we understand the law, together we protect lives" and aligns with directives from the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport, Saïd Saayoud. Its primary objective is to bolster traffic safety across the nation and provide clear definitions of the stipulations within Traffic Law 25-09.

The Ministry of Interior has clarified that the campaign seeks to familiarize all road users, including both drivers and pedestrians, with their respective rights and duties on the road. It also aims to inform them about the rules they must observe, as well as the violations and associated penalties. By doing so, the initiative intends to cultivate a deeper understanding of road regulations among the populace, fostering a more informed and compliant road culture.

Beyond education, the campaign is designed to reinforce awareness regarding the critical importance of adhering to traffic rules and to promote preventative and responsible behaviors. These efforts are expected to substantially contribute to reducing road accidents and safeguarding lives and property throughout Algeria. The campaign is a collaborative endeavor involving various sectors, bodies, and stakeholders in road safety, coordinated by the Ministry of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport through the National Delegation for Road Safety, and is scheduled to continue until December 31, 2026.
